The Native American Boarding Schools: Intergenerational Trauma Realities in Native American Families
Intergenerational trauma: “A traumatic event that began years prior to the current generation and has impacted the ways in which individuals within a family understand, cope with, and heal from trauma.” Native American Presbyterians are invited to this Talking Circle to discuss, hear the stories and to share, if you wish, how the boarding school experience affected them and/or their families. The Presbyterian Church, USA and office of Native American Intercultural Congregational Support needs to hear the stories and understand how peace and reconciliation is possible within the Native family and communities we are part of.
